Mater Private Hospital - CCL4 and Theatre 9

Project Description

The Mater Private Hospital Theatre #9 and CCL#4 projects represent a transformative

expansion of the hospital’s surgical and cardiac care capabilities. Delivered in a live hospital

environment, the works involved significant modifications to existing medical gas systems to

create a state-of-the-art operating theatre and advanced cardiac catheterization lab along

with structural modifications to a number of other clinical spaces throughout the hospital.



MedProGas were engaged by Aircon Mechanical as incumbent gas specialists to complete this

highly complex and challenging project that involved phased works over 4 floors of the

hospital. The MedProGas team navigated complex challenges, including management of

multiple phased shut-downs and tie-ins to existing medical gas systems. Ultimately, patient

safety, and uninterrupted hospital operations were the challenge in some of the most critical

clinical spaces within the hospital. MedProGas had to engage with the Client and the full

construction team directly to ensure that RAMS were generated to ensure all aspects of tieins

and shut-downs and backfeeding were fully detailed and concise. MedProGas works were

completed within-budget delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality and

compliance.

The med gas systems upgrades enhance patient care, optimize staff facilities, and improve

hospital efficiency, providing cutting-edge medical environments for the community. The

project stands as a benchmark in healthcare construction, showcasing seamless collaboration,

innovative practices, and a commitment to safety and excellence.

Aside from the degreased piped systems, the successfully completed medical gas package as

provided and commissioned by MedProGas included new AVSU Modules, Local Alarm

systems, AGS Plant and control and alarm interfacing with 3rd party Theatre Control

Panels.
